My Journey Through the Liminal
Plus - Your Invitation to Join Me in a 6-week LIVE Journey with Sheela Na Gig!
Hello Cosmic Cuties!
I’m so excited that I get to share with you something that I have been birthing for the last few months. And I really believe that this is the perfect time to release it given the state of things in the U.S. and across the world right now.
If you have felt like you are powerless. Like your voice is muted. If you’re feeling stagnant and unable to move forward. If you are in the midst of your own change - career, relationship, season of life, a move, anything really - these are the moments that Sheela Na Gig whispers to you. It’s definitely when she has whispered to me.
She has appeared to me several times over the last 14+ years and even more so over the last 5. And always when I’m standing at the threshold of change in my life. When I find myself in the liminal space where I’m having to navigate blind.
I love this image because this is how I feel when I’m in those places of change. The threshold can look very beautiful (the appeal of a new job or romance perhaps) but you don’t know what lies ahead. You have to trust that no matter what happens once you cross that threshold and you journey through to the other side that Goddess has you and will hold you even if it winds up being a free fall off a cliff. You have to trust that there is a lesson no matter what lies ahead.
When I first met Sheela Na Gig, I was an art history graduate student at the University of Essex in Colchester, UK. I was strolling through Castle Park and ventured inside to take a tour. I took it rather quickly and didn’t take as much time as I probably should have. But, I do remember seeing a stone carving of a woman that took me aback on one of the lower shelves. And then I dismissed her, not even paying attention to the short write up.
Fast forward to a few years ago, and I was having my first Goddess reading for my birthday by Priestess
. Of all the cards she could have drawn out of 850+, she drew Sheela Na Gig (and several others). That is significant because there are only a handful of decks that include her. At the time, I had recently moved, taken a job that I manifested, then got let go from that job, and was trying to figure out who I was in this small, rural, Texas town.I had left everything I had known - all of the culture, significant places, friends, and a job I actually really enjoyed with people I loved working with - for a small, narrow-minded, and very red rural town in order to help take care of my mom who had just suffered a brain aneurysm and needed help figuring out her new normal.
But it was gorgeous. And still is. I don’t think I have ever felt more connected to nature or to Goddess than I do here. But it was very trying for me. And it still is 5 years later.
This is the walking path along the bay front. It’s a public waterfront, and I adore it.
When I initially moved, I was excited for a slower pace of life (and I do still love that), for the close proximity to the ocean (a two minute walk from my door), and the ability to see the stars at night. But it’s been nothing but trial after trial. And I trust that there is a lesson and growth in all of it. Because while I may have left one of the biggest cities in the country, it was here that I found my spiritual family. And it is here that I have grown my connection to Goddess and grown as a priestess and healer.
And through all of these transitions and trials, Sheela Na Gig has been there to hold my hand.
After her initial appearance, she appeared a few more times in readings and then eventually, I just had a nagging feeling that she was calling me herself. And every time, Kimberly confirmed it.
Through multiple job transitions, losses of friendships, changing relationship statuses multiple times, and trying to find myself as a 40 year old, unmarried, childless woman, she has been there. Giving me the courage I need to open myself up to love. And to release myself of it. To navigate the endings of friendships. To give me the confidence to enter new career fields. To move through periods where I felt belittled and shamed. How to set and enforce boundaries to protect my own energy. And showing me how to love myself fiercely through it all.
Sheela Na Gig is there for you, too. If you’ll let her.
She’s been a gentle nudging at me for years, but when you finally say yes - she takes the reins! And I am so excited to invite you to explore the different aspects of Sheela Na Gig and show you how you can work with her, too.
Today, I am launching a 6 week LIVE experiential course that will take you from an introduction to who she is to being able to connect with her on your own terms and in your own way.
There isn’t anything out there that is comprehensive on how to work with her. There is a lot of academic writing. A lot of blogs on her in a historical aspect. Some go into her goddess aspect. But very few, if any, are a gateway to really learning how to feel her energy and work with it. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but this course has been Goddess-driven and co-created with Sheela Na Gig herself.
If she is calling you, then I invite you to learn more about the course by going here or clicking on the image below.
And as a side note, the way she appears in the image below and in the course info page is how she has been appearing to me over the last year in my work with her in journeys and meditations. She said she is reclaiming her image (but will still raise those skirts when she needs to!).
